Who are we?

Stare at the Sun is a professional mixed-voice chamber choir specializing in the curation and commissioning of works by living composers. Works that address issues of social responsibility and the complexities of living in the 21st century. Works of defiant optimism that celebrate human potential, the value of human life, and the possibility that human beings may transcend the limitations of our humble origins and leave the world better than we found it.

Stare at the Sun has premiered works by Ted Hearne, Lansing McLoskey, Alex Berko, Matthew Recio, Alissa Voth, and Nicholas Cline, and has curated works by Evelin Seppar, Ayanna Woods, David Lang, Caroline Shaw, Per Nørgård, Karin Rehnqvist, Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, Tõnu Kõrvits, Edie Hill, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Hans Abrahamsen, Missy Mazzoli, Judith Bingham, Judith Weir, Arvo Pärt, Kevin Puts, Eric Whitacre, Joanne Metcalf, Pawel Łukaszewski, Gabriel Jackson, Kile Smith, and Michael Gilbertson.
